Diseases we study

Cancer

p53, kinases, GTPases like KRAS, and the DNA-repair proteins that should catch the damage.

Infectious diseases

COVID-19, Ebola, dengue, hepatitis C, and other viral and parasitic infections.

Neurological diseases

Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's — diseases of protein misfolding in the brain.

Why we study diseases

The Folding@home project is dedicated to understanding protein folding, the diseases that result from protein misfolding and aggregation, and new computational ways to develop cures.

A distributed computing project must do more than run calculations on millions of PCs — it must produce results. We publish in peer-reviewed journals, give public lectures, and post regular updates on the Folding@home blog.
